August already, July just rused by. I managed to find time to shoot and the picture above is my favoritet from July.
On the evening when I photographed the seagull the sky was covered with clouds. These conditions gives a smooth and soft light. Which is perfect.
It’s never easy to pick one image…
Why did I chose this image? I’m not sure. The crane is a beautiful and magnificent bird. Maybe it’s that simple.
After I took the shot I felt that the image should be black and white. It dosen’t work i color.
I use the AF-S 600/4 on the Nikon D3. 1/1600 at f4, ISO 800 handheld.
Later in the digital darkroom I made the basic adjustments in Lightroom. In Photoshop I used Silver Efex Pro to make the image black and white.
Last night I visited the common terns to see how the wore doing. I’m planing to use a floating hide to get closer and hopefully better images. I made some images showing them in their environment.
I used the Nikon D3, 600/4 – ISO 3200, 1/250 f4
You do not need to travel far to find pictures. The photo above is made in my backyard.

What a week!
I could never imagined that the images of the female bear with three cubs could get so much attention. Four swedish newspapers published the images and I have also received some calls from foreign newspapers.
That’s the reward for all the time I put into photography.
In my mind it is the photographer who makes the images, not the camera. But I’m impressed by what the Nikon D3 can do. The lens I used, AF-I 400/2,8 weighs around 6 kilograms and I had to set the ISO to 2500 to get fast shutter speed and a sharp image.
There is some noise in the image but it’s not so bad.

I fredags var det nattöppet i Åsele. Vid halvåtta stängde butikerna och så flög raketerna upp i luften. Jag ställde mig på parkeringen vid kyrkan och tog några bilder.
I söndags tog jag mig ut i skogen ett par timmar. Dagarna är inte så långa och det börjar mörkna vid 3-4 tiden på eftermidagen. Under lördagen föll det nästan 1 dm snö.
Panoramat ovan är 3 stycken bilder som jag lagt ihop med hjälp av photoshop. Jag använde Nikon D3 med 24/3,5 tilt & shift.
Även om det är fotografen som gör bilden så tycker jag att objektivet och kameran kanske är den bästa investering jag gjort på länge!
