Today is Overshoot day – the day on which this year’s resources of renewable assets rub out. In 2009 Overshoot day occurred more the a month earlier, on September 25th.
If everyone would live like Swedes, we would need three planets. More than five planets if the American lifestyle would spread globally.
Isn’t it awful? We can all do something so future generations can have a decent life!

My first close encounter with a Osprey (Pandion haliaetus)!
The image is far from sharp. But there are so many crisp images of ospreys and we do not need more of them…
But I’ll be honest and say I was surprised when it suddenly showed up. I photographed something else and I didn’t have the time to change the settings on the camera.
It happened so fast so I just took aim at the bird.
A Spotted nutcracker (Nucifraga caryocatactes) sitting in a Swiss pine tree in my backyard.
They usually appears in late July around here. The reason is the Swiss pine and it’s cones. The Spotted nutcracker is a pretty fearless bird.
