I always look at the aurora forecast Geophysical Institute i Alaska makes. And last night the aurora activity was predicted to be moderate. The aurora wasn’t as strong as I had hoped. But, I think I captured a pretty decent image.

First snow.
Yesterday, Tuesday 16 October the first snow fell in the area I’m living in. I only had my iPhone 4s with me, but it didn’t matter. I captured the photo I wanted!
Close ups can be fabulous, but I like to show the environment the bird or the animal is living in.

We had a cold night and a misty and beautiful morning.

I had an amazing encounter in May 2009. A friend had heard about bears that been spotted in this area, so we drove there and waited. We were sitting in the car by the road when they showed up. The cubs stopped by the roadside for a while just like they where checking if any cars were coming.
